Home Renovation & Extension
Our mission began with transforming the rear of the house into an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. However, the homeowners, a highly creative couple, envisioned leveraging the trussed roof space to craft a standout architectural feature.
As the project evolved, the clients expressed a desire for upgrades to the windows and doors, opting for double-glazed European Tilt/Turn UPVC models. This not only enhanced the home’s insulation but also beautifully linked the indoor spaces with a newly constructed patio. A dilapidated lean-to at the rear was ingeniously converted into a sunny potting and coat area, incorporating recycled Lead Lite windows from a venerable Sydney home, adding character and a touch of history.
The centerpiece of this transformation was the preservation of a cherished, very old stone laundry sink, which we repurposed as the potting sink. Complemented by vintage recycled brass taps sourced by our plumber, this feature became a testament to the home’s new blend of old charm and renewed functionality. This careful integration of the home’s original elements with modern enhancements perfectly captured the essence of the property, making it as functional as it was enchanting.

European tilt-and-turn windows provide versatile ventilation options and superior insulation. They can tilt inward for secure ventilation or open fully from the side for maximum airflow. The uPVC frames are durable, weather-resistant, and provide excellent thermal insulation.
New windows with improved insulation properties help reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer, leading to less reliance on heating and cooling systems. This can result in significant energy savings.
Yes, especially double-glazed windows, which are effective in sound insulation, keeping outdoor noise to a minimum and creating a quieter indoor environment.
Signs that your windows may need replacing include noticeable drafts, difficulty opening or closing, condensation between panes, and visible damage or decay. If the issues affect your comfort or energy efficiency, it might be time.
